d&ad new blood monotype brief

this project brings Synesthesia to life and celebrates the indivuality of this gift. The purpose is to educate the public on this phenomenon and shine a light on Synesthesia for people that may not even know yet that they are gifted.

A series of posters exhibiting thoughts of a Synesthete, all taken from people’s real experiences.. The poster provides a small amount of information about  Synesthesia. We chose 2 typefaces for our campaign, the first being ITC Benguiat BT and Univers. The idea of using these two typefaces was to highlight the two different characters, one with Synesthesia (reflected through Benguiat) and the other just normal, regular people (reflected through Univers). The phrases we chose are playful and curious, as Synesthesia is a gift that should be celebrated.

A series of interactive posters, to be ripped by the viewer. The top posters represents a normal, mundane thing that holds no significance to most people, however when ripped away, reveals an experience a Synesthete has towards that object. This poster would be a part of the campaign as it is interactive and will get people talking and engaging with Synesthesia.

A series of large posters that act as a mind-map for the audience. These posters invite the viewer to step forward and share their experience with the centre topic by writing their thoughts on the poster. This installation is interesting as it allows one to see the difference in people’s thought processes and associations.

A series of cards that depicit the experiences of Synesthetes. They relate to the posters in visual language, a quirky quote on the front catching the attention of the audience, with the full experience on the back.
